When Kev from Esperance Honey came to chat about a rebrand he handed me a bunch of fresh cut flowering eucalyptus branches and a tub of the purest bush nectar I’ve ever tasted. He wanted the essence of the Great Western Woodlands where the honey came from in his new labels. TBT to when these legends opened the finest little espresso bar in the west (IMO anyway 😉) ... @downtownespressobar didn’t need me long term, their insta game is strong 💪🏼. Shout out to Harvest Signs Esperance and the mad signwriting skills of Gary Brown 🙌🏼 • I first met Gary when he was painting the window logo on @dempsterstreetbarbershop during the @downtownespressobar renovations. I was fascinated - my grandfather was a signwriter and I hadn’t seen someone work like this since I was a little girl. When it came time to roll out the signage for @bobandjims new brand I knew Gary was who we needed to lend a bespoke feel to the final product • You might expect craftsmanship like this to be time consuming but what was equally impressive was the speed with which the whole signage suite came together. I provided the digital files to Gary via email (a combination of elements required, some hand-wrought, some machine printed) on Wednesday and by Friday lunchtime the side wall had been cleaned, sketched and painted by hand, new front building badge installed and lettering applied to all doors and windows... quick and quiet as a flash! • #oldschool #signwriting #madskills #digitalart #signwriter #signmakers #smallbusiness #craftsman #bespokebranding #harvestsignsesperance
